A controversial retirement development has just been approved after an 8 month battle with The City of Wanneroo. Lakelands Country Club has been successful in their application to build a retirement village in Gnangara. Applause was heard from the gallery when approval was finally granted. Refusal of the development was recommended by The City of Wanneroo and WA Planning Commission due to the urban design of the development being unsuited to the area’s rural zoning along with inconsistencies with State planning policies.
Please view the following link to read more about the project and how the final decision came to light.

A great day was had by all at the Amana Living Treendale Village Open Day in Australind. The sun was shining and the grounds looked spectacular. Residents supported the day by providing Devonshire tea for the guests along with a sausage sizzle, an arts and craft exhibition and a potted plant sale. All amenities and facilities on offer were available to be viewed by the general public and positive comments were heard all around. Seniors Own Real Estate would like to congratulate the winner of the gourmet hamper raffle valued at $150.00. If you were unable to attend the open day and wish to learn more about the Amana Living Treendale Village please contact Debbie or Leanne of Professionals Bunbury on 9725 9361.

Seniors Own Real Estate are excited to see such a growing diversity of seniors and aged care facilities being offered to cater to the over 55 year old market. Many villages are typically located on large sites with ‘villa’ style accommodation, however we are also seeing a number of developers producing ‘vertical villages’ promoting apartment style living. When availability of land is lacking, building multi-storey aged care homes has become a growing trend. A fantastic example of this style of development is currently being built by Regis Aged Care in Lutwyche, inner north Brisbane. The 6 storey facility will be opened in 2018 and will include 135 single room accomodation. The development will offer all of the amenities you would expect in a hotel style accommodation. Located in close proximity to transport and parks, residents can enjoy concierge services, a private dining room, a cinema, a day spa and so much more.
Please see pictures of the development below.

For more information regarding the development please refer to the following link.
