An exciting charity event, The Central Park Plunge 2016, was recently held in Perth. Two of the brave participants were 80 year old “super grannies” Helen and Gloria. These inspirational ladies abseiled fearlessly down from the roof top of one of Perth’s highest buildings. As they soared 220 metres down the Central Park Tower they raised money for Ronald McDonald House, an organisation they have worked as volunteers for. Other charities involved in the event were The Fiona Wood Foundation, Anglicare WA, and Kid’s Camps. The event to date has raised a total of $483, 225.03, which must make these two daring and courageous grandmothers feel extremely proud of themselves. Please view the below article, to read more about the ladies daring feat along with a link providing information about this wonderful charity event.

Retirement village residents in Tasmania are disappointed with the Clarence City Council’s decision to charge Not For Profit villages general rates. The rate cost, which these pensioners were previously exempt from, will cost an estimated extra weekly charge of $40.00. It seems the council may have a fight on their hands.
