Helping Older Australians Find a Place to Call Home
At Seniors Own Management, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, secure and welcoming place to live, regardless of the circumstances that have brought them there.
Over the past few months, we have had the privilege of assisting three older Australians, all over the age of 55, who found themselves facing homelessness. This is one of the fastest-growing groups experiencing housing insecurity across Australia.

Two of these residents had been living permanently in a caravan park in Albany. Following the sale of the park, permanent residents were required to leave, leaving many with limited housing options and an uncertain future. Through collaboration with local support services and our team, we were able to secure accommodation at Country Women’s Association (CWA) South Coast Lodge and provide these residents with a stable and supportive community where they can once again feel at home.
Our third resident, will settle into the CWA Lodge in Rockingham, faced a different but equally challenging situation. He had been residing in an NDIS-supported home when the property was sold, leaving him without permanent accommodation. After a period of living in temporary housing, he was understandably anxious about what the future might hold. Today, he has a secure place to call home and will become part of a caring village community.
Stories like these remind us why retirement living and community housing play such an important role in supporting vulnerable older Australians. Housing is more than just a roof over someone’s head, it provides security, dignity, independence and the opportunity to reconnect with others.
We are incredibly proud of the work undertaken by our team, alongside the Country Women’s Association of WA and local support agencies, to help create positive outcomes for people in need. Seeing residents settle into their new homes, make new friends and regain confidence in their future is one of the most rewarding aspects of what we do.
While the challenge of housing affordability and homelessness among older Australians continues to grow, these stories demonstrate what can be achieved when communities come together with compassion, understanding and a shared commitment to helping others.
For three individuals who were facing uncertainty, a new chapter has begun and we are honoured to have played a small part in helping them find their way home.
